Beijer Electronics signs a new master agreement with Tetra Pak

Beijer Electronics has signed a new long-term master agreement with Tetra Pak for the supply of the new E1000 operator terminals, based on the new hardware platform. Beijer Electronics has a co-operation with Tetra Pak since autumn 2003, when deliveries of terminals from the earlier generation began.

- We have, since the co-operation started, developed a strong customer relation with Tetra Pak who has become one of our largest single customers. We are proud of and pleased about this new master agreement, giving us increased business opportunities, says Göran Sigfridsson, CEO of Beijer Electronics.

The master agreement is global and comprises supply of the new operator terminals for process equipment and machine control that Tetra Pak produces and sells world-wide. Tetra Pak is one of the world's biggest users of automation equipment.

Beijer Electronics' new operator terminals are sold partly under the proprietary brand EXTER, and partly through brand label partners. Beijer Electronics has up to now signed brand label agreements with Mitsubishi Electric and ABB, who sell the new terminals under their proprietary brands at the global market.

- The agreements with Tetra Pak, Mitsubishi Electric and ABB confirm the strenght of our terminals. We have seen a clear sales success for the new terminals in 2005. They already stand for about 20 per cent of business area HMI Products' sales on the European and North American market, says Göran Sigfridsson.

Beijer Electronics' new operator terminals are based on Beijer Electronics Power Panel (BEPP) with an open architecture and a new hardware as well as software. The open platform means that the operator terminals have considerable more functions. The terminals are also robust, to resist a tough and demanding industrial environment.

The new terminals were launched end of 2004, when five terminals in the larger segment were introduced on the market. The terminal series is supplemented with additionally six new terminals in the inter-segment, with deliveries starting in April 2006.
