Beijer Electronics Subsidiary Westermo Secures a Large Order from BAE Systems

Beijer Electronics' wholly owned subsidiary group, Westermo, has received a large order worth several million kronor from the British company BAE Systems. Westermo will be delivering some 6 MSEK worth of Ethernet switches to BAE Systems in 2009. The total estimated project value for Westermo is over 35 MSEK.

Lars-Ola Lundkvist, Managing Director of the Westermo group, commented:
"We're very proud to have secured this order from BAE Systems, which is clear corroboration of Westermo's technical leadership in robust industrial data communication."
Westermo's Lynx Ethernet switch was selected for its commercial availability, capabilities in very harsh environments and because it has the market's smallest form factor.
The switches will be used in communication equipment with very high standards of security, reliability and compatibility with other systems.
Beijer Electronics acquired Westermo Teleindustri AB in 2007, which has been an independent business area in the group, Industrial Data Communications (IDC), since January 2008. IDC develops and sells industrial data communication products, a market subject to very high robustness and reliability standards.
