Beijer Electronics' CEO and President Göran Sigfridsson has notified the Board of his intention to resign as CEO by no later than the AGM 2008. Mr. Sigfridsson will be 60 next year, and will then be entitled to draw his company pension.
-"I've been with Beijer Electronics since the start, and over these past 26 years have participated in building Beijer Electronics into what it is today. Beijer Electronics now has a secure platform for profitable global expansion, and I think that now is the time for someone younger to take over as CEO and lead the group's continued progress," commented Mr. Sigfridsson.
The Board of Directors has now initiated a search and selection process, with the ambition of being able to announce a new CEO well ahead of the next AGM.
The Board expressed its hopes to be able to retain Mr. Sigfridsson within the group in some capacity as a senior adviser, focusing on acquisition and coordination issues.
