BEIJER GROUP achieved notable successes, with high growth in 2021. The strong demand has been broad based, with good geographic diversity, covering all segments the Group addresses. Order intake was up by 40% to a new record level, passing a milestone of over 2 billion SEK. Sales increased by 13% and EBIT was nearly 70 million SEK. This is stated in BEIJER GROUP's Annual Report for 2021 in English-language, which is published today on the company's website www.beijergroup.com.
BEIJER GROUP has focused on emerging stronger from the pandemic, and the economic challenges that dominated the global economy over the past two years. During the period, the Group maintained a balanced tempo of product development, launching a stream of new products, and advanced its positioning in product and market terms. In the year, the Westermo business unit acquired German enterprise Eltec. Westermo also launched several new solutions focusing on intelligent power networks in the energy segment. The Beijer Electronics business unit introduced 16 new products, with software upgrades including iX software, which hade new functionality added. The investments will pave the way for continued high growth.
Departing and new CEOs Per Samuelsson and Jenny Sjödahl write in the CEO comment that great emphasis is put on increasing profitability in the direction of the targets. After the pandemic, there is room to increase productivity. Price increases, implemented to compensate for higher purchasing costs, will have an impact in 2022. The merger between Beijer Electronics and Korenix will continue to develop, providing new opportunities. BEIJER GROUP has also moved into the new year with a record order book and the Group is considered to have good potential to keep reporting improved financial results for 2022 compared to 2021.
In connection with the Annual Report, BEIJER GROUP presents a Sustainability Report which is published separately on the website. The Annual Report presents a summary of the report.
A printed annual report will be distributed shortly to shareholders who have requested it.
